1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: An Early Literacy Initiative

We would like to invite you and your family to participate in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program. This program invites families to give their children a strong start on their Early Literacy Journey. 

Participation is simple, families will receive a reading log that they can use to mark off each book that they or someone else reads to their children. 

The Library will provide families with starter kits at the time of sign up. You are welcome to print out the Sign Up Sheet and bring to the Library to receive your starter kit! 

You have the option to print Book Logs from home or come by the Service Desk to receive a new log. Complete each log at your pace. Once your family reaches 500 books come by the Library to receive your 500 Books Read Goody bag! 

Stop by the Library to take a picture of your progress at our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Display in the Children's section of the Library. 

Once your family has read 1,000 books come by the Library to receive your 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Certificate and Goody bag.
