Residents were able to learn more about the proposed Community Center renovations and upcoming venue tax election during an informational meeting April 14 at the Victoria Community Center.

Residents were also able to ask questions and discuss the project with representatives from the City Manager’s Office, Parks & Recreation, Economic Development, Discover Victoria Texas and Communications & Public Affairs.

Staff also conducted a guided tour during the event, explaining the proposed changes and highlighting existing features that would be updated if the project moves forward.

The City of Victoria is proposing a renovation project for the Community Center that will include a new covered event arena, conversion of the existing arena into an expo hall, renovation of the dome and other changes that would improve the venue’s capacity to host different types of events.

How to vote

Election day is May 3. Early voting will take place April 22-29. Only City residents may vote on this proposition.
