National Night Out

Since 1984 National Night Out has been enhancing relationships between the community and law enforcement while providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.

In Texas, National Night Out is celebrated on the first Tuesday in October.

About National Night Out

National Night Out celebrates our Police - Community Partnerships. The Victoria Police Department (VPD) is committed to community involvement that must include you, the community.

The goal of National Night Out is to:

Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
Generate support for local anti-crime efforts
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Community Safety Fair & Kick-off Party

Our Safety Fair and Kick-Off Party for this year will be at Children's Pavilion at Riverside, 523 McCright Drive, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Please plan to attend this fantastic event. As the time nears, tune into the VPD Facebook for reminders.

Neighborhood Block Parties

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023 between 6 pm and 9 pm, residents of Victoria are asked to lock their doors, turn on porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Simply knowing your neighbors is one of the most effective methods to prevent crime. Police and Fire Department personnel will stop by to visit with many of the residents whose parties are registered with the Police Department.
