Winter Weather and Water Information

Updated as of 1/11/24

The City of Victoria, Victoria County and the City/County Office of Emergency Management are reminding residents to protect plants, pets, pipes and people as a powerful cold front brings winter chills to our area.

The cold front is not expected to cause icy conditions, because there is little to no precipitation in the forecast and because freezing temperatures will not persist throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing overnight Monday and Tuesday, but they will rise again each afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature will be “significantly below normal” this weekend into next week.

We need your help to maintain our water system -

  • To protect your pipes from freezing, allow the faucet furthest from your water meter to drip steadily. Do not turn all your faucets on, and do not turn them on all the way.
  • If you have a leak, please call the City of Victoria at 485-3381 and we will turn your water off at the meter.
