We are excited to offer this “sponsorship program” once again. This is an opportunity for civilians to get hired by the Victoria Police Department and attend the Victoria College Police Academy as a cadet. As a City of Victoria employee, the cadet will receive pay and benefits while attending the academy. Upon graduation from the academy and ultimately passing the state licensing exam, the cadet will return to the Victoria Police Department to continue their education and training as an officer while participating in the field training program.

September 24 - Testing begins (Written examination & physical agility)
September 25 & September 26 - Review Board
September 30 through November 15 - Job offer made after background investigation and Chief Interview
December 2 - Tentative start date with Victoria Police Department
January 8, 2025 - Victoria College Police Academy begins
