Jan Scott is the City Council representative for District 4. She is a real estate attorney with Anderson, Smith, Null & Stofer, LLP. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Goucher College, her M.S. in biology from Texas A&M and her doctorate in law from the University of Houston Law Center. She served on the Planning Commission for 15 years (13 years as chair) and chaired the committee that wrote the City’s first comprehensive plan, which won statewide recognition. She serves on the Victoria Metropolitan Organization Policy Advisory Committee (chairperson), Victoria Housing Finance Corporation Board of Directors, Victoria Health Facilities Development Corporation, Victoria Public Facility Corporation and Victoria Central Appraisal Board of Directors (chairperson), and she has served on many strategic planning committees.
